Theodore puts Hillspeed on top at Snetterton

Hillspeed ended the latest Protyres Formula Renault BARC on top as series front runner James Theodore set the pace during the most recent test at the 1.95 mile Snetterton track in Norfolk.
The 18 year old from Telford set a time of 1m05.992s to top the BARC class, the only BARC runner to get below the 1m06 mark. This impressive showing backs up the team’s prediction that Theodore will be a regular challenger for race wins and podium finishes.
During the opening session of the day at Snetterton, Theodore posted a best time of 1m07.699s (103.79mph); he went on and set the standard in the second session by markedly improving the times in testing conditions, with gusty winds being the order of the afternoon.
Even with the winds, Theodore’s performance backed up his strong Brands Hatch showing at the start of the month.
“Once again James delivered with an excellent showing this week, his times were well clear of his nearest rival”, said Hillspeed team principal Richard Ollerenshaw, “It was certainly a challenging test for all of the drivers as it was very gusty, with constant wind direction changes. James coped very well though and was in terrific form, we’re delighted with his pace and overall performance.”
The Formula Renault BARC pre season testing finishes with a standalone test at Silverstone on the 8th April, being held on the National configuration. The opening round of the Protyres Formula Renault BARC Championship takes place on the 17th/18th April at Brands Hatch, on the Indy configuration.
